Improvements & Updates

SQL Server 2025 Compatibility

  • SQL Server 2025 Support: Docusnap now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2025. Particularly relevant for existing environments: The Express edition now allows databases up to 50 GB — instead of the previous 10 GB limit. This provides significant headroom for those previously operating at the Express edition limit: more snapshots for inventory history, more comprehensive NTFS permission analyses, additional tenants, or simply more inventoried systems — without switching to a paid SQL Server edition. Existing databases benefit from the increased limit immediately after upgrading to SQL Server 2025 Express.

Veeam Backup & Replication 13

  • Full Support for Veeam 13: Inventory of Veeam Backup & Replication 13 is now fully supported. Data collection uses a dedicated discovery component based on PowerShell 7. Existing scheduled inventory jobs via Server or DDS are not affected and continue to run as usual — Docusnap automatically selects the appropriate discovery component. When using script-based inventory, the discovery executable must be replaced manually, as the new version does not support Veeam 12. The legacy variant remains available for Veeam 12.

Microsoft 365 & Azure

  • Improved Cloud Inventory Stability: The stability and reliability of cloud inventory has been improved in several areas. Issues with increasing RAM consumption during M365 inventory, incorrect data assignments between services, and errors during Azure inventory with many subscriptions have been resolved.

SNMP

  • Vendor-Specific Improvements: SNMP inventory has been improved for numerous vendors. Vendor-specific issues with Cisco, HP, Brother, Aruba, APC, Meraki, Phoenix, and Urmet have been resolved. Missing port alias entries are now displayed correctly for all vendors. A workaround for a vendor-side SNMPv3 issue has been implemented for Sophos switches with firmware 2.x. The topology plan now correctly displays Sophos firewalls, LANCOM port allocations, and Extreme switches.

Windows Inventory

  • Enhanced Windows Inventory: Several improvements have been made to Windows inventory: Firewall rules now display the readable rule name instead of the internal GUID. User-to-app assignments now consider the app version, preventing duplicate entries. In environments with high network latency to the domain controller, inventory now continues without AD information instead of being aborted.

Additional Improvements and Bug Fixes

  • General Improvements: Third-party libraries for AWS CLI and Nmap (OpenSSL) as well as Npcap (1.87) and Nmap (7.99) have been updated. After power-saving modes, the Docusnap system now seamlessly restores the connection to the Docusnap database on the SQL Server. Nutanix hosts are now available in the “All Systems” overview and under Linux → Additional Scans. In addition, numerous improvements have been implemented in the areas of Docusnap Web, Connect, CSV import, Audit, permission analysis, network plan, and physical infrastructure. A complete list of all changes can be found in the Change Log.
