New in Docusnap 14

Audit Functionality

  • Change Tracking for Meta Objects: With the new audit functionality, manual changes to meta objects can be tracked seamlessly. The feature can be activated via the options under General/Audit and allows you to select specific meta objects to monitor. Each change is logged with detailed information, including the executing user, exact timestamp, and performed modifications. The audit history can be viewed either through the context menu of individual objects or centrally via the ribbon menu.

Platform Security & UEFI 2026 Readiness

  • Enhanced Security Information: A new “Platform Security” section has been implemented for Windows and Linux systems. This records and documents critical security parameters such as the TPM version in use, UEFI 2026 readiness status, Secure Boot configurations, and BIOS setup mode. The UEFI certificates in use are displayed in a separate overview. For evaluation, a new report is available under Infrastructure/Domain/Reports/Infrastructure HW/UEFI 2026 Readiness along with a corresponding Connect package.

Windows Certificate Inventory

  • Optional Collection of Trusted Certificates: The Windows inventory has been extended to optionally collect trusted certificates in addition to private certificates. This option is disabled by default to control data volume but can be enabled in the inventory wizard if required. The collected certificates are stored in the database in a structured way and are available for security analyses.

Improvements & Updates

Linux Inventory

  • Modernized Script-Based Collection: Linux inventory via script now uses asymmetric RSA-4096 encryption over CMS instead of the previous symmetric encryption. Python 3 and OpenSSL are required on the target systems. The automatically generated .dsi files can be imported directly.

Physical Infrastructure & SNMPv3

  • Simplified Management: The sorting of cable and connector connections can now be reset via the context menu. The SNMPv3 wizard has been simplified—unnecessary fields such as Engine ID and Localized Keys have been removed.

Windows System Report

  • Optimized Presentation: The Windows system report has been streamlined and now displays relevant information in a clearer manner with reduced report size.

Customizing Enhancements

  • Improved Workflows: The metaschema import wizard clearly presents conflicts and enables targeted conflict resolution. New grid options (HideFilter, HideGrouping, HideRowCount, ReadOnly) provide more flexible design options for input forms.
