Docusnap 14 Released
Docusnap 14 introduces numerous new features and enhancements, enabling even more comprehensive inventory and documentation. Improved user interface components also deliver optimized performance and scalability.
Microsoft Azure Inventory
Docusnap now supports the inventory and documentation of entire Azure infrastructures, including subscriptions, resource groups, Azure services, and management groups. A highlight feature is the analysis and documentation of RBAC permissions, which helps maintain an overview of permissions in large environments. Checking where a specific user has access is also supported. Dependencies between Azure resources are visualized—even across subscriptions.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Inventory
The new version enables the inventory and documentation of AWS services and organizational structures. This facilitates an organization-wide overview of your AWS infrastructure, including applications, containers, databases, computing resources, management & governance, networking, security, identity & compliance, and storage solutions.
Microsoft 365 Extension: Intune
In addition to existing features like Teams and Exchange inventory, Microsoft Intune is now fully supported, including the collection of apps and managed devices.
Enhanced Exchange Online Inventory in Microsoft 365 Scan
The Exchange Online inventory through the Microsoft 365 scan has been expanded to include detailed capture of mailbox and folder permissions as well as public folders with permissions.
HPE Storage Inventory
The inventory of HPE storage solutions has been expanded to include HPE Primera, Alletra, and 3PAR. Captured data includes hardware details, storage cages, storage controllers, and networks, as well as physical and logical data such as volumes, LUNs, and WWNs.
Nutanix Inventory
Nutanix inventory now includes clusters, storage containers, virtual machines, physical hosts, and security policies, providing a detailed overview of your Nutanix infrastructure.
Warranty Queries for Various Manufacturers
Docusnap can now retrieve warranty information for devices from HP, HPE, IBM, Dell, Cisco, Asus, Lenovo, Toshiba, and Fujitsu. Warranty queries require an online connection to Docusnap (endpoint: https://docusnap365.com/api/ds-dispatcher
). The queries are processed via the Docusnap365 environment. No data is permanently stored; it is only transformed and forwarded to the manufacturers’ endpoints. This option can be disabled.
Docusnap Connect Interface
The Docusnap Connect interface has been enhanced to allow syncing desired data from Docusnap to Power Automate and Microsoft Dataverse.
Extended Windows Inventory
The Windows inventory now includes battery information, providing a better overview of device statuses.
Changed System Requirements
Microsoft SQL Server 2016 is now the minimum requirement. Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 officially ended on July 9, 2024 (End of Life). Since features available only in SQL Server 2016 are used, an upgrade is necessary to ensure functionality and security. Additionally, at least 8 GB RAM and 4 CPU cores are recommended for optimal Docusnap performance.
Docusnap Interface
The new user interface includes optimized UI components that significantly improve the performance and scalability of the application. All existing components have been revised to ensure a consistent and modern user experience. If functionalities that were available in version 13 are missing, users are encouraged to provide feedback to support. New UI components enhance performance and future scalability.
